Vayu launches online energy management portal for businesses

7 October 2014: Vayu has completed the rollout of its MyVayu energy management portal as part of a multi-million euro technology investment to cater for its growing Irish customer base and expansion into the UK energy market. The online platform provides businesses with a suite of analytical tools to manage their energy consumption more efficiently and to optimise their electricity and gas procurement decisions.

Vayu launches wholesale gas product for mid-sized business users

24 September 2014: Business energy supplier Vayu today launched a new gas product allowing mid-sized gas users to take advantage of cheaper prices available in the wholesale gas markets. A first of its kind for the UK market, the Vayu Energy Smart opens the wholesale gas market up to thousands of businesses throughout the country, allowing them to purchase gas on more equal terms to much larger businesses.

 

Vayu Achieves 100% Supply of Renewable Electricity Rating For Second Year Running

9th July 2014: Vayu is the only energy supplier in Ireland to achieve a 100% renewable energy rating for all electricity supplied to its customers according to the last annual Fuel Mix and CO2 Emissions report published today. Vayu signs €50m renewable energy deal with Bord na Móna

June 2014: Vayu is delighted to announce it has signed a renewable electricity deal with Bord na Móna valued at €50m over 15 years. As part of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), electricity produced by a new Bord na Móna landfill plant in Co. Kildare will be purchased by Vayu and sold on to its business customers throughout the country.

Vayu Enters UK Business Gas Market

June 2014: Vayu has announced its expansion into the UK, providing natural gas and energy services to businesses across the UK’s industrial and commercial sector. The announcement sees Vayu become the first Irish energy supplier to target the UK business gas sector.  

Vayu has grown steadily since 2003, when it became the first independent supplier to be awarded a gas shipping and supply license in Ireland. The company now supplies 22% of Ireland’s largest natural gas business users and 15% of the mid-sized gas user segment. Gas customers include companies such as Tesco, IBM, Debenhams and DHL.

Vayu 2014 Green Energy Award finalist

Vayu signs €1m green energy deal with Silver Hill Foods

March 2014: Irish energy supplier Vayu has signed a renewable electricity deal with Silver Hill Foods, one of Ireland’s most successful producers of duck products. Valued at €1m over two years, the agreement will see Vayu supply Silver Hill Foods with 100% green electricity to meet its year-round energy requirements as it continues to expand into new export markets.

March 2013: Irish energy company Vayu has signed a multi-million euro electricity supply and energy monitoring deal with Cemex, one of Ireland’s largest and most successful building materials companies. The deal provides Cemex with direct access to transparent wholesale electricity market prices across 30 sites, allowing the company to achieve significant savings compared with traditional fixed rate tariffs by purchasing power at the best price available in the market at any time.

Vayu Signs 100% Green Energy Deal with UPC Ireland

December 2013: Irish energy supplier Vayu has signed a significant renewable electricity supply deal with UPC, Ireland’s leading TV, broadband and communications innovator. Under the three-year agreement, Vayu will provide UPC with 100% green electricity to meet the year-round requirements for its 96 metered sites across Ireland.

 

Vayu signs €1.8m energy deal with Britvic Ireland

24 November 2013: Irish energy supplier Vayu has signed a gas and renewable electricity deal with Britvic Ireland, the number one soft drinks company by volume on the island of Ireland. Valued at €1.8m in the first year, the agreement will see Vayu supply Britvic with natural gas and 100% green electricity to meet all the year-round energy requirements for its three Irish sites – its two factories in Dublin (Kylemore) and Limerick (Newcastle West) and its distribution centre in Dublin (Clondalkin).

The deal will provide Britvic with direct access to wholesale market prices for both electricity and gas, allowing the company to achieve significant savings compared with traditional fixed rate tariffs in the market. As part of a fully managed agreement, Vayu will provide Britvic with the procurement tools and advice to purchase energy at the best price available in the market.

Thank you for shining a light on homelessness

A big thank you for your support during Focus Ireland’s recent Shine a Light on Homelessness campaign. Vayu’s Managing Director, Colm Kennedy, was among 56 of Ireland’s top business leaders who slept out in Iveagh Gardens to raise funds to help end homelessness in Ireland.

This year’s event was a great success and we exceeded our target. We couldn’t have done that without your help.

Our Lady’s Hospice awarded 100% renewable energy certificate from Vayu

November 2013: Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services was recently presented with a 100% renewable energy certificate from Irish energy company Vayu. By using electricity attributed entirely to renewable sources, Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services is saving the equivalent of 17,407 trees each year and achieving an electricity CO2 rating of zero, thereby significantly reducing its overall carbon footprint.

Vayu achieves 100% renewable electricity rating

Vayu has become the first energy supply company in Ireland to achieve a 100% Renewable Energy rating for all electricity supplied to its customers. The company, which supplies electricity to Irish businesses, has seen a doubling of its market share each year since it entered the electricity market in 2007.
